Work is scheduled to start in mid-September 2023 and anticipated to be completed in the late fall of 2024. Depending on weather, final landscaping could push to spring 2025.
What are the work hours for this project?
Work hours are available from 7am to 7pm, Monday through Saturday; expect most workdays to end around 3:30pm.
WIll roads be closed during construction?
Rodenburg Road will be closed to traffic between Timberleaf Circle and Irving Park Road. The closure can start no earlier than March 1, 2024 and will end with the project’s completion scheduled for late fall of 2024. Click here to see the closure and detour route map.
How will you restore the grass along the roadway?
Expect new topsoil with grass seed and blanket from Central Avenue to the railroad tracks. The project includes a native grass seed mix on the slopes further away from the roadway. From the railroad tracks north to Irving Park Road, landscapers will install a mixture of seed and sod to help restore the established lawns along the roadway.
How will school bus traffic, trash pickup and mail delivery be affected?
When Rodenburg Road is closed to all traffic, there will be a posted detour along Irving Park Road and Central Avenue connecting at Roselle Road. The project team will notify school districts, trash services and Postmasters.
