LATEST INFORMATIONSEPTEMBER 5, 2024
Crews will complete the few gaps and open the pedestrian path to walkers/cyclists; they will be opening the new right-in/right-out access at Timberleaf Circle South to traffic. The roadway remains closed to traffic; we are actively working to schedule its reopening. Crews still need to landscape and place final surface/pavement markings/signage. Expect the resurfacing from Timberleaf Circle South to Central Avenue to start next week. The roadway will have that rough, grooved surface and you will see Fresh Oil signs; a two-step paving operation follows the surface removal work. AUGUST 29, 2024
Crews completed concrete sidewalk landings throughout the project; there are just a few gaps left to fill with concrete/asphalt. Expect to see the new pedestrian path open and Timberleaf Circle South available for traffic late next week. The roadway remains closed to traffic; we are actively working to schedule its reopening. Crews still need to landscape, resurface from Timberleaf Circle South to Central Avenue and place final surface/pavement markings/signage. AUGUST 22, 2024
We completed the pedestrian path pavement along the east side of the road. Next week, concrete crews will install the connection pieces between the path and adjacent sidewalk and curb. Caution tape and barricades will secure the fresh concrete – please avoid the concrete until we remove the caution tape/barricades; no one wants to replace new concrete because of footprints/bike tracks. Crews will open the pedestrian path as soon as they finish the topsoil installation. The roadway remains closed to traffic, but we are actively working to schedule its reopening. Crews still need to resurface from Timberleaf Circle South to Central Avenue. AUGUST 15, 2024
Crews will continue topsoil installation over the next week. Expect to see asphalt crews return to the site next week to complete the pedestrian path pavement along the east side of the road. Concrete crews will follow that work to install the concrete connection pieces between the asphalt path and the adjacent sidewalk and curb. Metra crews are still working to complete their improvements along this stretch of tracks. For more information on train horns, please click to view the Federal Railroad Administration fact sheet. The roadway remains closed to traffic. We still need to pave the new pedestrian path, install concrete sidewalk sections, complete landscaping and install the roadway lighting system. |
